Design for Democracy at the Frankfurt Book Fair

The crew of young designers accompanied a six-week tour to over 20 locations in the region, which was conceived as part of Frankfurt RheinMain's application phase for the title World Design Capital 2026.

A workshop trolley was used to present the application claim Design for Democracy. Atmospheres for a better life was transported to the squares of cities and communities, schoolyards and conferences.

On site, young designers offered workshops for about 1,000 students from the entire Frankfurt RhineMain region as well as open, participative offers. In addition, numerous actors and initiatives at the individual tour locations participated with contributions on the topic of Design for Democracy.

For the finale of the tour, the cooperation partner of the workshops Stiftung Deutsches Design Museum will offer a print workshop: new inspirations and statements will be created with word parts to take home on bags for all visitors. The results of the student workshops will also be presented to the public.
