03-05.10.2022: Tour stop at Paulskirche
Our goal is to work with citizens, students, scientists, architects and designers to advance design ideas for social, urban and cultural developments and thus strengthen the sustainable design of our region. We would like to use the application year 2022 to start the discourse on "Design for Democracy" on different levels, to focus on citizen participation and to incorporate ideas from young people. Therefore, we travelled for six weeks with our red workshop van through the entire region in order to exchange ideas directly on site in the cities and municipalities.
10.5 Theses on Design for Democracy - DDC as part of the Design for Democracy Tour
What can design contribute to strengthening a democracy under attack? The experts of the German Designer Club discussed the transformative potential of design at the DDC Design Convention in Frankfurt in the spring. The result of this convention are the 10.5 theses on design for democracy, which will be presented to the public in front of Frankfurt's Paulskirche on 4 October from 5 pm. At 6 pm there will be an open discussion on the theses with Prof. Dr. Dr. Michel Friedman, publicist and author, as well as Prof. Dr. Nicole Deitelhoff, Director of the Peace Research Institute and Prof. Dr. Felix Kosok, DDC. The discussion will be moderated by Vivian Perkovic.
Workshop with designer Jonathan Radetz: Join in, build stools and think urban space.
Become part of this urban space experiment, because the Making Frankfurt stool is much more than just a seat and object. Together in a row, they make a form-fitting bench. But it is also a marker and symbol for the urban transformation that we want to promote together. By punching in the what3words, your stool will be connected to a place that you value or would like to redesign.
